The question of whether bread is unhealthy is asked a lot, especially if one is trying to make better food choices and to lose weight. Too often, bread is demonized because it is rich in carbohydrates which are thought to lead to spikes in blood sugar levels. Regular bread also contains phytic acid, a known enzyme inhibitor.
However, not all bread is equal 🙂
